Our friends at the University of Colorado at Boulder are conducting a scientific study of Halo: Reach players on team dynamics within the game. The idea is to sort out, for instance, whether younger players are better lone wolves than older players, what impact playing on a real team makes on your overall in-game performance, etc. To do this, we need your help. Do it for Science!

Here’s how it works: you visit the web survey and answer some questions about yourself (demographics), about the way you play Halo: Reach and which gamertags you play with. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. After that, if you care, we’ll show you how your Halo: Reach service record stacks up against the universe of 1,000,000 other Reach players. (This is similar, but more general than the Halo Charts comparison.) If you’re interested, we’ll send you the results of the study when it’s completed.
The survey does ask you to create an account on the study website, but you’re free to create and use a throwaway email address (at yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc) specifically for this purpose. You need a valid Xbox Live gamertag and you need to have played some Halo: Reach with it (preferably your primary Halo: Reach gamertag) because part of the web survey involves information derived from your game history.

The Xbox 360 Kinect, Microsoft’s new gaming toy, released to the world, only a few months ago. For those that don’t have [...]

The Xbox 360 Kinect, Microsoft’s new gaming toy, released to the world, only a few months ago. For those that don’t have it, you may wonder, how it is? How are the games? And most of all, do they work? Well, carry on reading to find out, about one of Kinect’s most popular game!

Kinect Sports, one of the first games to be released for Kinect, along with the also popular Kinect Adventures and Kinect Joy Ride. Kinect Adventures is a game, perfect for an active family, making you jump, duck, weave, and move around much of your room. A recommended game for a younger audience and their parents, but anyone over 14, may quickly get bored, unless trying to entertain youngsters. Kinect Joy Ride, a game, where you hold an airborne, invisible steering wheel, and drive your vehicle across many tracks, and through many clouds, and a quick pull back with your arms, and you’re going twice as quick. Joy Ride, a game made more for the older generation, as they can relate to real driving, but can satisfy the younger generation for some time, until they get bored.

Kinect Sports however, is the game, that can entertain any age, or sex, for numerous hours of joy. Kinect Sports get you moving, running and jumping all over the room, but without needing to much play space. Sports, gets you kicking a football, sprinting on the spot, throwing a javelin, smashing a volleyball and even beating up your friend, just virtually. Kinect Sports has three main game types; Main events, Mini games and Party Play.

Main events, is how it reads, the main events, here you get to play six different games; Football, Bowling, Track and Field, Boxing, Ping Pong and Beach Volleyball. I will start with what I consider to be the two best ‘Main Events’; Bowling, and Track and Field.

Bowling, like on, one of the Wii’s best selling games, Wii sports, is one of the most popular games, where up to 4 of your family and friends, online or offline can play together. An easy task of bowling a virtual ball, down a virtual lane, sounds simple, but it is anything but if you want to get strike after strike. Positioning of the body and feet in accordance to the lane, is just as important to the positioning of your arm that you are bowling with. As with all the games in Kinect Sports that involve an object you have to pick up, you get a choice of which hand to use, this chosen simply, by placing the chosen arm out to the side, to grab the object, in this case the bowling ball. Once you have positioned yourself with the lane, its just a simple lunge forward, and swing of the arm, just like you would do if you were bowling in reality. The pins fall down, collide and the most annoying of all, wobble, just like normal pins do in a lane. A strike is met with a nice snippet of well known music, flashing lights, crowds cheering, but most of all, a brilliant replay of your moment of glory. One of the best Main Events, and really shows off the power of the sensing of Kinect, Bowling will always compliment you with fun, when alone, or with friends. I believe Kinect Bowling is generally more fun and accurately presented then its main rival Wii Bowling. Although on the Wii, I believe that it is more accurate when trying to spin the ball, I also know that you can play Wii Bowling, when outside the room where your television is based, so not as much skill is needed. The Kinect Bowling has more accuracy with the body, involving your feet and body positioning as well.

Now enough about Bowling, as I go onto the Track and Field, another brilliant Main Event on Kinect Sports. Track and Field consists of five different small games, them being; 100m Sprint, 200m Hurdles, Long Jump, Discus and Javelin. I will concentrate mainly on two of these games, that contain all the skill needed for all the games. First of all, the simplest of these games, the 100m Sprint. A simple one this, just run on the spot, and watch, as your character sprints down the track, either leaping with joy at the end, or weeping in disappointment, depending on your result. Although it is quite that simple, there are a few hints that will give you the edge over your family and friends. As the starter calls ‘set’, a small crouch down, before you start, will give your avatar a super quick start, then its up to you to do the rest, until you get near the end, where another lean forward, will zoom you to the finish line, with exceptional speed, maybe even breaking the world record at the same time. Kinect takes a few things in to mind, when deciding how fast your running. Things like picking your knees up really high, will really help you in your journey to becoming world champion, and so will vast movement of your arms, in co-ordination with the legs. These two factors, will help you in the other three sports that also contain running, and when you want to gain maximum speed. Mastering this skill, will then help you in my next event, the Javelin. Another fairly simple event to do, but some techniques will work a lot more then others. Again it is a game where you have to grab the Javelin first, with your desired hand, by just grabbing it from the side. Then, with your chosen hand to the side, sprint, like before, as fast as you can, the faster you go, the faster that javelin goes. As you approach the ‘foul line’, the floor will turn orange, then green, as it hits green you need to throw that javelin hurling through the air, as fast as your little (or big in some cases) arms can make it. To throw, you simply throw an imaginary ball, or javelin if you wish in the air, and watch as your avatar, actually lets go of it, and it flies off into the distance, or lands right in front of your feet sometimes. On Javelin its all about finding your own tactic, to get that javelin to travel across the field as far as it can possibly go. The technology for the Javelin is brilliant, it really does take into account how you throw the javelin, what angle it is, what speed you throw your arm at. Javelin is a good sport to try on Kinect Sports, as you don’t need to be mega strong, or mega fast to win, just to master the technique from practice.

So that’s the ‘Main Events’ in a nutshell, probably the best section to play, whether your learning the basics, or if you’re already a master, you can still reap the same rewards and fun from it. Playing by yourself, or with a party of friends and family, ‘Main Events’ will keep you entertained for a long period of time. But there are still other games, that I haven’t discussed yet, that will test your skill even further, and make you try again, and again to break, not only the world record, but your personal records every time.

‘Mini Games’ another fun section of Kinect Sports, is packed with smaller games, where you have to break records, beat times, and try to survive against the meanest of computer opponents. ‘Mini Games’ is more suited to gamers playing by themselves, as you don’t get to play at the same time as your opponents, but you can still compete against them, just you would have to take it in turns, in the ‘play space’ (the ‘play space’ is a phrase often used in Kinect games, it refers to the space you have to use, and the space you will play in). I will once again, discuss two of these ‘Mini Games’ that are well suited to the game, and in my opinion, are the most enjoyable, ‘Super Saver’, and ‘Paddle Rush’. All games from the ‘Mini Games’ section, are taken from, and involve in some way, part of one of the ‘Main Events’.

Super Saver, taken from the Main Event ‘Football’, puts you in the feet of a goalkeeper, having to save penalty after penalty. As you stand on the spot, in the middle of the goal, a football Will be kicked at the goal you are defending, and it is your job to save that from entering the goal, thus saving yourself a lost life. As the game progress’ the saves get harder and harder, and you will find yourself jumping across your play space, to try and defend this ball, with any part of your body possible. On screen, a large indicator shows you where the football is going to go, and where you have to place any body part, preferably your hands, to successfully save the ball. You start with four lives, meaning only four balls are allowed to pass through your clutches until you lose, but can gain another life, every time you reach a multiple of twenty on your ‘shots saved’ record, so these being twenty, forty, sixty and so on. If this were to be played on such rival consoles as the Wii, or the PlayStation Move, the only body part able to save, would be your hands, but with Kinect, you can stretch out a leg, header forward, or even let it hit your torso, as Kinect will be monitoring all of your body throughout the game. ‘Super Saver’, an extremely addictive, yet surprisingly tiring Mini Game, a good one for when you’re alone.

Paddle Rush, taken from the Main Event ‘Ping Pong’, gives you two paddles, to hit back a Ping Pong ball across the table, but in this Mini Game, it’s not just one ball. As you yield both paddles, one in each hand, the computer player will continuously hit balls at you, slowly at first, then increasing with speed all the time. Your job is to hit as many back as possible, gaining a point for every ball hit back. On Paddle rush, you do not, unlike Super Saver’ lose a life for letting a ball go past, but in this game, you have a time limit, and every time ten balls are returned, you gain an extra five valuable seconds, to keep hitting the balls. The game finishes once the time has completely run out. If there was a similar game to this, there maybe, on the Wii, or PlayStation Move, both Kinect’s biggest rivals, I believe they would be equally as good in this game, as all that is needed is the hands, or controllers in the Wii and Move, so the responses would be the same, and no extra gain would come from Kinect’s controller free motion sensor. Paddle Rush, is definitely a game to play when you’re on your own, and can quickly bore you, but good to get in a few games and set records, especially if you want that all important gamer score.

So that’s the ‘Mini Games’ in a shorter more precise nutshell. Best to usually be played by yourself, but can be addictive to beat your own personal record again and again. There is one last kind of game type, that brings a whole party of people together, in deep competition and involvement.

‘Party Play’, the last section of Kinect Sports that is available. Party Play solely concentrates on 1 Vs 1 games, against your family members or friends. Simple to set up, and encourages great competition between players, both playing, and just watching. You have to split up your group of friends or family, into two teams, who will compete against each other for the ultimate prize of victory and the bragging rights. Party Play, will randomly choose a game, as you have to pick one person from each team, to compete. Some games may include both players to be in the play space at the same time, or some, such as long jump, will ask for them to take it in turns. Players compete for victory in each event, gaining one hundred points for victory, but only a dismal fifty points for those who lose. Throughout the selection of games, the points for both teams will be added up, and given a grand total at the end, celebrating the winning character, along with their team. Party Play can be great to play with a group of friends, as it guarantees every player a go, and brings rivalry, that not many other games could bring. For a quick, exciting time, when with a large group, Party Play will be a great success.

So that’s then Party Play, an event to be played with, and against, family and friends, encouraging rivalries and bragging between the players and teams.

That’s pretty much all of Kinect Sports wrapped up, from Bowling to Running, Saving to Hitting and rivalries to friendship. Kinect Sports can keep you entertained for a long period of time, whether alone, or with a party, the fun never stops. The motion sensors work great on Kinect Sports, picking up every movement that is needed to excel at every game. Sports doesn’t completely show off the motion sensors, and vast technology, but then neither does it need to, whereas some games, such as ‘Your Shape Fitness Evolved’, will even detect the movement of fingers, but as this isn’t required in Sports, they decided not to include that, but concentrate, and give more time to the important features, which are brilliantly exampled in all of the games on Kinect Sports. I believe Kinect Sports is better then it’s main rivals, being ‘Wii Sports’ and PlayStation Move’s ‘Sports Champions’, for one particular reason. My main reason is that of the use of the whole body, something that neither the Wii, nor the Move can apply, due to the only motion sensoring, being with the controllers, and not the system censoring the actual body. I believe, aspecially in a Sports game, it is very important, to not only take into the context the arms, but the legs to, and what they have to do. Take the running events for example, I remember playing the Wii, and just sitting on my chair, whilst moving my arms really quick to run, obviously not replicating any reel running at all, but when I go on Kinect Sports, I have to be standing, and actually running on the spot, moving my legs, otherwise my Avatar would not move. This makes for a much greater experience whilst playing the game. However, in some cases, I believe the technology of the Wii and the Move, can work better at some points in each game, then Kinect’s sensor. For games on Kinect, such as ping Pong, I believe that using a controller, included in the Wii and Move, would make the hitting of the ball more accurate, but this is only in a game where you would only need arms to play, and not the rest of the body, such as the legs. Generally, I believe the actual body censoring of the Kinect is better, and can provide a better experience, then any other console, or game. Kinect Sports, gets you the most involved out of any virtual sports game to have been released so far, due to all the factors that have been said during this review.

I hope that this Review has made you think of returning to Kinect Sports, buying Kinect Sports, or buying the whole bundle of the Kinect Sensor and Kinect Sports, as I can tell you from a first person experience, that it is definitely worth your hard earned cash. Kinect has it’s downs, but mainly it’s benefits to the player over it’s competition.

Stay tuned with Top 10 Series, for more brilliant reviews on many games.

With 2011 off and running, there is one big thought on all gamer’s minds: “What games am I going to buy this year?!”. Well, that is what I am here for! I am going to make it very simple for you and outline what games to buy this year.

First off we have Dead Space 2. Dead Space 2 was released on Tuesday January 25th, 2011. Dead Space 1 was easily one of the scariest games ever created. It throws you into the shoes of Issac Clarke, an engineer sent to check out why

a mining vessel has cut contact. When you and your team arrive you are brutally attacked by a type of being known as Necromorphs. Your only thought is to fight your way out. You do make it out okay though. That brings us to Dead Space 2. You are back in the shoes of Issac, ready to fight those darn Necromorphs one more time. Many peopleplayed the Dead Space 2 demo on the arcade, and clearly they were scared. My personal favorite review of the demo was by theRadBrad, because he was literally almost cryin

g throughout the whole thing due to how scared he was. This means that the fear factor of this game was at no point put on hold. So if you like fighting for your life against a mutant race, this is the game for you!!

The next game I am bringing you is Portal 2. Portal 1 was a huge hit for people who bought The Orange Box. You could pretty much place a whole in anything you want and go through it. Who does not like that?! Portal 2 takes place 50years after the character Glados dies. The greatest new thing that Valve is bringing to Portal 2, is the new coop mode. No longer will you have to go through those difficult puzzles again! For those who like to have to think in their games, well I highly suggest going out and buying Portal 2.

The last, and one of the most highly anticipated games of 2011, is Gears of War 3. Gears of War 3 is the spectacular end to one of the greatest series of all time. In GOW3 you take the reigns as a man known as Marcus Fenix. This game takes place eighteen months after the fall of the last human stronghold. Deep in the depths of the Earth something is brewing infecting the planet. It is up to Marcus and his Delta Squad to save the human race. Are you up to it?!

These are just 3 of the many great games that are supposed to come out in 2011. You may have realized that I did not talk about the next Call of Duty, despite it being probably the most anticipated game of the year. I did not mention anything on it because, well, nothing has been confirmed about it yet. I highly hope you take my advice and go out and either pre-order or buy these games. I know you will not regret it!
Then you’re missing out on a great franchise. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, released 2006, was one of the best RPGs, selling over 3 million copies and winning numerous awards. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the direct sequel to Oblivion and it’s a game you can’t refuse. Prepare ye self for a mind-blowing RPG I doubt you won’t love.

Two hundred years have passed since the gates of Oblivion slammed shut and the world of Tamriel is a different place. The Blades have all perished, the nords have turned against one another, civil war is near, almost all is in ruin. The dragon Alduin, The World Eater, is coming to fulfill its prophecy as the world lay in ruin. To defeat the dragon and restore order, Tamriel needs The Dragonborn, rare individuals blessed by the gods to strike down the ancient threat. The Dragonborn have all but died out, except for one, a lowly prisoner unaware of his destiny. The one who the dragons shall come to fear. The one the winged beats will curse in their forgotten language. They will call him Dovahkiin.

The ruined province still contains amazing views and ancient cities

As I said if you haven’t played Elder Scrolls IV, you’re missing out. Skyrim is the direct sequel that contains many new improvements including the stunning environment. The Combat system has also changed and you are even given the ability to dual wield weapons, use a shield + spell, spell + sword, powerful and unique combinations to try out. As in Fallout 3, players now get the chance to pick perks, helping one define their character even more. Enemies now have unique behavioral patterns, so not every monster will immediately rip your throat out for walking by. Characters will now have more detailed faces and show more emotion, distinctions between different races, and basically look prettier. A large variety of new monsters, and yes, there will be dragons.

Dungeons, and trolls, and dragons, oh my.

The main story: You, the lowly prisoner, are the Dragonborn. It is your mission to fulfill your destiny as the Dragonborn and slay Alduin the “World Eater”, before he unleashes his wrath upon the world. Skyrim will be the first of the whole series to introduce Dragons to the game. The legends spoke of the return of dragons. The Elder scrolls series always told of the return of dragons due to the chaotic events at the conclusion of each game. Eventually, Alduin, a god-like dragon will devour the world if left unchecked. Only you can fight the lesser dragons since you are anointed by the gods. Why are the dragons back? How did they return? How do we end it? Dragons will ravage villages, fly into battle expectingly, they wield mighty power, and you will have to face them in single combat.

With Black Ops out, Activision is already thinking about next year’s brand new addition to the most anticipated series. Rumors [...]

With Black Ops out, Activision is already thinking about next year’s brand new addition to the most anticipated series. Rumors hint that it is in space!

Infinity Ward Remastered

It was reported on November 19 that Infinity Ward has been totally reconstructed by Vivendi (Activision’s mother company). Vivendi claims that they are extremely happy with what they have done with Infinity Ward, though they never actually said what they did in the reconstruction. One can only assume that the Infinity Ward team members who govern online play have been confronted for a lack of listening to the community. This could mean that if Infinity Ward does create the next Call of Duty game, it could be much better than Black Ops is right now. We just do not know yet.

Who is going to Make it?

Seeing that Activision knows that if they create another title, it will bring in a great deal of revenue for them; they have three companies to choose from to make the next game. There is Treyarch, who has proven themselves in making a great game. They also could choose from Infinity Ward, who they say has been completely reconstructed and they believe will do greatly if chosen to make another title. And then they could choose from their unknown company, Sledgehammer. To the best of my knowledge, they have not created any game that has brought any huge amount of revenue, but it is believed that they could be the company making the next Call of Duty.

Nothing like the smell Space Marines in the Morning

Activision has confirmed that, as of right now, they plan to launch a new Call of Duty game in the later part of 2011. As I have said, it is not confirmed which company will make the new game, but there are rumors coming around from Activision that the new title will be about Space Marines. I think this could be the death of Call of Duty, seeing as that it would just be an Activision making of Halo. In my opinion, it is extremely unwise of Activision to take the Call of Duty series to space, it started in World War II. I think they should either kill the series while they are ahead, or make an Black Ops 2 in some way. What do you think?

The moment we have all been waiting for! This is the fight of the century ladies and gentlemen. Who will win? That is the question!!

We all know these two gaming names. They are two rival teams on the same side of a coin. They both have brought us some of the best online, and campaign play ever created.

A Short History of the Series

For those who do not know who these two companies are, I will give you a little background information on the two great companies. In October of 2003, Infinity Ward released a game that would forever change the world. This game was the original Call of Duty. It brought the intense fighting of World War II to the youth of America, with a Quake feel. Infinity Ward then continued to release more Call of Duty titles such as Call of Duty 2, Modern Warfare, and Modern Warfare 2. In the midst of the release of these revolutionary games a smaller not as well known company was making the same games for Activision. This company is Treyarch. The Call of Duty titles that Treyarch released are Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War, and the much anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops.

With the release of Black Ops, and the almost symbolic death of Modern Warfare 2, many arguments have aroused about which company and game is better. I am here to bring all the information I have read on this subject to you!

Who Will Win?

Lets start with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, or widely called Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty 4 was revolutionary in the online FPS world. Before now, Call of Duties were not widely played as an online community. I am not quite sure what it was about this game, but it started the wildfire of the next few years of gaming. Many people say that World at War, or WaW for short, was just a remake of Call of Duty 4. I do not believe this, it had different game types on top of the same, and was set in a different time period. This though started to turn people from WaW and any later Treyarch games, until people discovered Nazi Zombies.

Nazi Zombies was a huge add on to the Call of Duty series. It brought a third way to play the game, now there was online, campaign, and this mini game where you tear through wave after wave of zombies. Once people realized this, Treyarch saw a huge jump in their sales. But soon after they saw those sales, the most anticipated game of all time (until Black Ops) was released. This game was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 was a HUGE game, and when Infinity Ward released it, it almost made it so they would have all further Call of Duties. It did that well. In the first 5 days it made 550 million dollars, which until then was never reached. This game was very good, but Infinity Ward blundered immensely with the online form of play. Many people were able to hack the game and create many glitches: the javelin glitch, care package glitch, the list goes on and on. Infinity Ward did fix these, but refused to fix things such as the One Man Army Grenade Launcher exploit, and arguably many overpowered guns. Once people realized that Infinity Ward was ignoring their players, many people refused to play the game. Many even returned to Call of Duty 4, seeing it as a more balanced game. Personally, I only played private matches with my friends because I was fed up with online play. What made much of the community mad was that the online manager did promise to fix the OMA Grenade Launcher exploit, but never did. This turned off many players. This continued for a year until Black Ops was released.

The world was forever changed on November 9, 2010. Call of Duty: Black Ops was released. In the first 5 days it made 650 million dollars, which blew Infinity Ward’s record out of the water. Treyarch has really listened to its online community with this game. They payed attention to ALL complaints of MW2 and did their very best to fix them. They got rid of OMA, and made it so tactical insertions could not be used in Free For All to boost killstreaks and other things. They even listened to the one player that did not like snipers, and did their best to get rid of sniper power. But in the first week Treyarch released 8 updates fixing everything they deemed unfair. To my best knowledge, that is more than Infinity Ward released in the whole life of MW2. These updates created the theme that Treyarch really cares about their community.

The Winner

In my opinion, although Infinity Ward has created the greatest video game series created, Treyarch really took it over the edge with their support of the community. What do you think? Leave your opinion in the comments below!

“Attack that noob!”. “What are you doing?! PLANT THE BOMB!”. “It’s raining men. Hallelujah it’s raining…..yeah mom?”. “Bzzztttt…….BZZTTTT”.

Ah yes, Xbox LIVE as well as other gaming networks are filled with the many glorious sounds of fellow gamers (and angry 10 year-olds). But scratch the age discrimination, I’m going to talk to you all about the importance of headsets in gaming. A good headset can mean the difference between your perfect stealth mission, and you getting killed by the guy that just flanked your squad.

Take your starter 360 Headsets for example:

Standard issued Xbox 360 headsets

-Convenient size
-Standard, No high price.
-Fairly effective

“Oh boy! Nothing I love better than getting a free pair of headsets! *3 weeks later* Oh what’s this? My mic is lagging? You can’t hear me? No halo 4?”

It seems that the standard issued headsets aren’t as efficient as you’d think. Now if you’re a kind, responsible guy or gal, your headsets would last pretty long. But if you’re like me or Chuck Norris, your headsets won’t make it past the pre-game lobby without having a problem. The key to a healthy headset is quality. Headsets come free with a system for a reason. You can go online and check out other headsets that are more effective and deliver much more bang for your buck. Now I can tell you to get the most expensive headsets you can buy and they won’t let you down, but there’s a better option: Search! That’s right! The ability to get what you desire is to look for it! Too lazy? No problem. Here’s my advice and recommendations:

There triton headsets run for around $120. I’ve tried them out before and they more than deliver, they wrap it up in a box, fight hordes of ninja zombies, and mail it to you in person with a happy jingle. Okay, so they’re not godly, and you probably can’t shell out $120, but these are for that gamer that wants to advance a bit from the average gamer. They have great sound and are pretty hard to break (unless of course you run over them with your car)

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…..TURTLE BEACHES! Otherwise known as the Ear Force X11 Amplified Stereo Headset with chat (Turtle Beach for short) These headsets are highly recommended and run around $50. “Now Amalos, that doesn’t sound very pricey. What’s the catch?”. Silly reader, money is for people with jobs! (Bad Trix yogurt reference) you don’t have to pay the most, to get the most. These headsets have good sound quality and also aren’t made of cardboard. They will last, they are durable, comfortable, and only require a couple batteries. They don’t cost much and are great for gaming.

The baddest of the bad, the coolest of the cool, the most expensive of all headsets I have seen. Made from the leather of wild Alaskan werewolves, and the plastic made from Santa himself, the amazing: Astro A40 Headsets! You’ll never guess how much they cost. Too late, $199.95. Now before I call an ambulance to rush you to the ER I want to tell you that you must pay an additional $50 for the headsets to be used in online Xbox or PlayStation communication. Now hold on, I’m not done yet…..Actually I am. Look, these headsets may be something of a large expense, but I’m sure they are excellent, would you pay $250 for a paper cup? No! They are comfortable, delivers perfect sound quality, and have customizable options as well. They have foam padding in the ear cups and have padding for your heat (the size is adjustable of course) These headsets are used in MLG gaming and are for the Pro kids that love money. They are built to last and can’t fail to satisfy you. (but they might harm your parent’s wallets)

And there you have it, my brief reviews for a couple headsets and advice. There are of course other headsets on the internet, but I’m not writing an essay here. Go explore, think you can find better headsets? Great! I’m here to show you the way, you just gotta walk any path you please.

Every year, Microsoft never fails to impress gamers with its brilliant new ideas and products. From the fresh new dashboard, to the release of Xbox Kinect, comes the all new: Xbox 360 Limited Edition D-pad controller. This sleek new product includes an adjustable d-pad, to give a more classical feel with the traditional + sign, rather than have the somewhat “annoying” diagonals. Another new improvement is the concave design on the analog sticks, giving a more comfortable feel. This sleek n’ sexy silver, white, and black controller will run around $64.99 at your local retailer. Release date: Nov. 9th ( of this year of course) Release in Europe is said to be in Feb. 2011.

Now I know what most of the readers are thinking. “Om nom nom, I’m a troll and I see everything wrong with this product”, “Why spend $64.99 for a new pad and craters in my sticks?”, “Why?”. I’ll tell you something that comes deep from within the confines of my thoughts: Why not? Why not of course, if you’re made of money and have sensitive thumbs. I’m not shooting the product down, by all means it is a beautiful new controller with minor but helpful improvements. However, it is JUST a new product, not your last chance to beat the final boss in 10 seconds for that achievement. If you need a new controller: GO FOR IT! Want a new play toy and have the money: Why not? There’s a plus and minus with every new thing and frankly I say give it a chance, try it out at a friend’s house, see if you like it.

I give this new controller an 8/10. The design is new and smooth. The metallic gray is absolutely crisp, the d-pad is improved for all your mashing desires, and the concave design on the analog sticks seems to look promising. Though $65 seems a bit pricey for a new wireless controller, I see no reason not to get it if you need a new toy. Just hope you don’t get the red ring of death.

Just kidding. This is Amalos with your brief review, going offline. *bleep bloop*
